Travel the world of fragrance at LUXSB, the official Luxury Scent Box. LUXSB is bringing an exclusive, you may only find it across the globe. Or in this case, across the pond. The launch of Thameen London is one of those rare niche finds that bring so much excitement to our incredible fragrance subscription! Thameen London fragrances are now available at LUXSB. This British-born fragrance house has all the makings of a timeless brand: master craftsmanship, attention to artistry, and respect for the environment. With several scents to select from, Thameen might become your signature selection for luxurious worldly flair and a clever nod to British Heritage.

Thameen London debuted in 2013 with a collection inspired by the most beautiful and storied rare jewels in the world, The Treasure Collection. A few of the selections from this creative collection include Regent Leather, Blue Heart, Patiala, and Green Pearl.

Thameen London Regent Leather

Thameen's Regent Leather is a study in amber, vanilla, and leather accords. It was inspired by the Regent Diamond, a 141- carat stunning rare gem. The top notes of lemon blends so smoothly with the heart of saffron, cardamom, jasmine, and rose. Base notes of vanilla, patchouli, cedar, labdanum, gurjan balsam, and musk combine to punctuate the beauty of the unisex masculine-leaning composition. Its well-balanced profile makes Regent Leather suitable for both men and women. More than a few fragrance lovers consider it to be equally as intoxicating as the scent of the luxury interior of a new car. The suede effect of Regent Leather may just inspire dreams of trips to a Rolls-Royce shoppe in London.

Thameen London Blue Heart

Thameen's Blue Heart is inspired by the largest heart-shaped blue diamond. Legendary in itself, Blue Heart reminds one of the mysterious enchantment of orris, tonka bean, and vanilla. Genuine extracts of saffron and coconut add a gourmand, almost tropical element to the amber-based scent. The sparkling vibe of this scent make it perfect for summer nights by the seashore. Or imagine your own blue oasis and spritz away!

Thameen London Green Pearl

Thameen's Green Pearl is an aromatic scent inspired by this naturally occurring Chinese pearl, as or more valuable than diamonds. Health, prosperity, and good luck may be yours after spritzing this lively fragrance. Bergamot, apple, neroli, and mandarin orange provide an energetic initial impression. Middle notes of green notes, tea, artemesia, and pepper invigorate the senses. Base notes of musk, oakmoss, and tonka bean round out the masculine-leaning unisex composition. This fragrance is ideal for warm weather wear.

Thameen London Patiala

Thameen's Patiala is inspired by the Patiala necklace of India. The beauty of this prized necklace is painted in all the colors of the feminine-leaning unisex creation. Patiala is a rose, citrus, amber scent recollecting memories of fragrant rose blooms with shimmering amber and opulent woods. Top notes of aldehydes and citrus open the fragance boldly. Middle notes of rose and orange blossom are a floral counterpoint. Base notes of amber, oakmoss, and musk create a warm embrace. Perfectly wearable any time of year, this scent is as classic as contemporary.

Make Thameen your new luxury fragrance choice: a modern British aesthetic crafted in homage to traditions in fine perfumery at LUXSB perfume subscription.

How To Travel With Your Fragrance

By: - Sunday November 20, 2022
4 min read

It's the holiday season already and this year in particular, more and more of us are ready to hit the roads and skies and ditch the hum drum pandemic lifestyle. If you have already booked your flight or vacation adventure, you're certainly not alone. Packing your bags is sometimes a stressful process, making sure not to leave anything really important behind. Plus, family and friends await your arrival. And if you are a perfume or cologne wearer, it is absolutely important to not forget the fragrances.

The main question is, how to pack fragrance for a safe journey? Small mistakes leave quite a mess, plus disappointment. Replacing an entire full size on the flight is certainly not what you signed up for.  And a favorite fragrance could be a niche or hard to find.  This is not easy fix, especially with limited time and opportunities to go shopping. And holidays are known for potential shipping delays, replacing something like a special scent is just not feasible in many cases.

Some confusion may also occur over how large can my fragrance be in order to be TSA-ready for flight security procedures. No one would want to have their precious fragrances confiscated because of a misunderstanding. But it happens often, leaving the traveller without perfume.

How To Make Travel With Fragrances Easier

First, make sure that the larger size bottle lid is closed securely and airtight. Check for any leaks or cracks. Then place the bottle in bubble wrapping (shipping and packaging material) or between thick, fluffy towels. Better yet, if you happen to have the original box or a suitable replacement, use that instead. The box adds that extra layer of protection during transit. Place the bottle or box in a plastic bag. During your trip, check on the bottle periodically until you've reached your destination. Try not to place the bottle in direct contact with anything made of hard plastic or heavy objects that can slide into or fall onto your container. It would be best to keep your bottle with lighter items such as garments. Give your scent less of a chance to move about by using a separate section in your luggage designated for the bottle or box.

Take A Smaller Amount of Fragrance Along

Due to TSA requirements of no more than 3.4 ounces of fragrance, or a large full size, it is a good idea to take smaller amounts of scent along on a trip. It lessens the chance that your bottle with less volume of scent left is taken by security. It is not a good thing to have too much space inside your container. For this reason, consider using a portable atomizer or travel sizes of scents. If your trip is extended, the opportunity to have access to different choices of fragrance is there. And the smaller atomizer lessens any risk of spills or bottle breaks during your flight. Those bags sometimes take lots of wear and tear in cargo. And even a carry-on may see extra shuffling around or light tossing from the upper cargo hold compartment to your intended destination. Not to mention connecting flights and racing to get from place to place.

LUXSB Is The Perfect Solution For Safe Travel With Fragrance

So you don't have any travel sizes and you're planning for that holiday flight or travel after the hustle and bustle of the season is over. Don't worry, we got you! LUXSB is known for our travel sizes and portability factor. You will receive a monthly fragrance supply of your choice in a luxurious LUXSB protective case.  Just a twist of the wrist and you have a fragrance at your fingertips. This spray is small enough to fit into any tiny space like an overstuffed and crammed suitcase and equally safe to toss into a large tote. It is durable, chic, and filled with your selection of juice. We carry a vast selection of designer and niche houses and are always adding to our fragrance catalog.

Keep your large spray bottle at home this holiday season and pack light. Maybe not too light, but as in taking your scent on the go. LUXSB travel atomizers are TSA friendly and can be placed on your carry-on bag. Take several on your trip, three LUXSB atomizers are less than 1 ounce of liquid and well within the TSA rules. And if you are on a road trip, the travel sizes are less bulky and one less thing to leave behind.  If you happen to lose one, it is economical, too.

Fragrance 101: The Misunderstood Floral Family

By: - Friday February 25, 2022
3 min read

Something as beautiful as a garden inspires us to live life with joy. The innocence and attraction of florals is legendary in perfumery. The floral note is naturally a go to for any niche or designer house. Some still have misconceptions of this singularly spring ready scent family. It is seen as sometimes too mature, too big, or too feminine. Let's tackle some of the most common myths about florals and get your fragrance wardrobe spring/summer friendly!

Some florals, especially white florals, are often accused of being "sillage or scent bombs". Too loud, intense or potent. There are quite a few flowers that do carry and have a certain lingering nature including jasmine, tuberose, gardenia, magnolia, ylang-ylang, lily of the valley, and iris. Some are night blooming, various petals are picked at just the right hour for mazimum scent output. Sometimes when these are blended together, it may be a bit overwhelming. The whiff of several together may read too bold for some or off putting. This may be the definition of too much of a good thing!

There are ways to wear floral fragrances that focus on one note. This is a soliflore perfume. Examples would be only gardenia or only jasmine. This can make the process of adjusting to florals not as jarring and allow the beauty and inherent qualities of each flower to shine. Or wearing your floral note in conjuction with another scent family.  Try exploring a fresh floral perfume with citrus top notes or a gourmand floral with chocolate or sugary notes. Another suggestion is a woodsy floral with base notes that add warmth and depth. These blends make the most of the flowers but also bring out the other notes that collaborate in a composition of elegance and interest.

Sometimes florals are seen as being "old lady" or mature scents. This too is a misconception. Back to the "big white floral."  There are so many different types of florals for anyone. With formulas that range from eau de toilette to eau de parfum or an extrait de parfum. The former is weaker and the latter is strongest. There are also strengths or formulas such as "intense" or "midnight" or "night". This may mean that your scent will have more of a powerful punch than others. This may be more appropriate for evening wear or someone who prefers strong scents. Strong scents are obviously not for everyone.

Often the floral is viewed as overtly feminine. Maybe the focus on the beauty and Queen of Flowers, the rose gives this impression. Today's floral is not yesterday's floral. Men and women can wear this family with flair and swagger. Unisex blends of niche scents are known to take risks and make them pay off with nods to floral notes such as rose, peony, and violet. The balance is all important to successfully wear florals without feeling overly sweet or delicate. There is strength in a great floral note that is undeniable and pleasing to the nose. This spring or summer, take a chance on a floral perfume and allow it to take you on an exquisite journey unlike any other scent family. LUXSB, the official Luxury Scent Box is the perfect place to experiment with floral notes and build your own scent paradise.

Fragrance 101: Choosing A Fragrance Made Easier

By: - Thursday February 17, 2022
3 min read

Scent selection is not always an easy feat, even for the most trained and complex of frag fans and noses. What may sound really sweet, delicate, and yummy may also include elements of another note or fragrance family that turn into a stronger, bitter, richer, or deeper blend. Or a unisex scent may have notes that lean strongly toward masculine or feminine. Take heart. This is a really normal experience.  Whether we made a blind buy leaning into the brand's description only or bought a full size after only a few magical moments after first spray. We've all been there.   It is important to have an open mind when exploring scent, but also make it a little easier to sort out the complexity of the notes that comprise many niche and designer houses. Here at LUXSB, we want to simplify this journey with you!

LUXSB Fragrance Library

We made it a little less complicated by separating scents into fragrance families and there is a section for this on the website.  It will help identify notes by their similarities. This could help someone who prefers a specific smell find just the right perfume or cologne. And also eliminate part of the ease of mixing up the meaning of terms.  Example: sweet versus gourmand which could be a little warmer or even heavy depending on which ones. Or citrus versus woodsy or earthy or clean.  If you know that florals aren't your thing, try to steer toward scents with more citrusy or woodsy elements. If you crave sweet smells, decide whether you fancy fun, bright, and sweet like bubble gum, sugared notes, soda pop, cotton candy or cozy , dark, or syrupy sweet like vanilla, bourbon, tonka bean, or caramel.  If you like something more earthy, herbaceous or green, look for more of an herbal composition (notes of patchouli, lavender, rosemary, mint, basil, pine, or thyme) .  If you just don't like traditional heavier men's colognes, try not to buy base note heavy scents with majority of deeper, woodsy notes. Maybe go adventurous with unique niche scents that surprise and explore more abstract meaning of perfumery or discover unisex  blends made with a more fluid approach to blending women's and men's into a modern mashup.

The scent's description alone could be really misleading because of the notes simply listed. Like a beautifully written romance novel, notes are often represented in a way that takes a life of their own. Or like a character in a movie. They attract, slay, kill, strut, and leave you wanting more.  They wow and inspire us to feel and sense the beauty and urgency to purchase me, fall in love with me. Just remember to read along and take a look at the scent notes and fragrance families that may accompany the very attractive description. If any of those are off-putting or hard no's, maybe look for another perfume. The protagonist of this scent storyline may be meant for another. It's another interesting and confusing part of wearing niche scents. They are complex as the noses that create them.

We also have categories for cruelty-free, unique scents, masculine or feminine, occassion, and scent families. We tried to make the process for fragrance choosing easy. But in the end, this unique and exciting adventure in the world of designer and niche fragrances is yours to conquer! If your still unsure, reach out to one of our fragrance specialist that can help in guiding you through the process in discovering the perfect scent with Luxury Scent Box.
